I have been married to Larry Mugerauer since 1996. Larry is my “right hand man”, he is an assistant at the shop, helping with making colors, rolling fondant, delivering. You name it, he knows his cakes. Oh, plus the big thing is he is a CPA, so you know who’s doing all the accounting for me!
Larry and I adopted our oldest daughter Miss Liberty Pauline from China at the age of 11 months in 2004. She “helps” out at the shop, making boxes, being a lovely “food critic”, and by dancing, singing and such to keep us entertained as we work. In 2009 we added an additional helper to our “Staff” Miss Izzianna MeiMei Mugerauer. She is a crazy little gal whom fills the shop with laughter, sillyness and her endless line of Disney jokes. Our little girl has a super sweet tooth and can be seen trolling for sugar cookies! We are very family oriented and love having the luxury of “bringing our daughters to work” when need be. Don’t be surprised to see a few toys around and a few child renditions of cakes around the shop.
I am very openly passionate about International Adoption and believe that every child deserves to know the love of a family. I could talk about it for hours and feel so blessed to have followed the path to build our family. Our shop’s mission is clear, we as a business focus on the goal of every child knowing the love of a family. From our ladybug Liberty cupcake which proceeds benefit Holt, to our Cake Guru cares for kids initiative that provides every Foster child in Winnebago county with a birthday cake, cupcakes or cookie cake, we live our mission and try to impact not only children but others so that they too will embrace this need.
I am an avid volunteer in the Oshkosh community. I volunteer for a variety of committees and groups and love being a part of making the Fox Valley a better place to live. Over the years I have been a part of Big Brothers/Sisters (known my little since she was 8 and now she is in her 30’s), the Miss Oshkosh and Miss Wisconsin Pageants, Festival of Trees, The Women’s Division, Junior Achievement, local politics, Catholic Schools and many, many more.
I love the Arts and the arts community, being involved in community projects such as Rooms of Blooms, Festival of Trees, Sites of the Season and The Nutcracker in the Castle. I teamed up with Nick Rogge and Ron Skubba to do a lion for The Pride of Oshkosh in 2004 and in 2011 did a Nutcracker for the Oshkosh Nutcracker’s on the town project.
